Description
North American Industry Classification System Code: The U.S. Department of Labor competes contracts for Job Corps Center Operations under NAICS 611519 entitled "Other Technical or Trade School."
Who Should Attend: Private for profit and nonprofit corporations including small businesses who have experience running academic residential facilities, public charter schools, independent public/private schools, business owners operating private trade, training or academic organizations for profit, and not for profit organizations; federal, state and local government agencies providing educational services and organizations.
Benefits of Attending: The conference will provide an opportunity for participants to meet key DOL representatives (i.e., ETA Head of Contracting Activity, Job Corps National Director, ETA/OCM Administrator, current Job Corps Center operators, and other participants).
Conference participants may directly market their business capabilities, meet Job Corps Center contractors, learn about high level Center operations, discuss the procurement process, participate in a questions and answers session about potential Center procurements, meet one-on-one with key DOL representatives, meet one-on-one with current Center operators in a Match Making Session, and attend a guided site tour of the Woodland Job Corps Center.
Incumbent Job Corps Center Operators and their significant subcontractors are invited to participate in Match Making Sessions with the attendees. The Match Making Sessions will be a series of informal 5-10 minute appointments between incumbents and new parties intended to assist in growing interest in the Job Corps Program. These sessions provide the participant with an opportunity to discuss their capabilities and learn about potential partnering opportunities. The first match making session will begin at 1:30 p.m. Please Note: Incumbent Contractors will not be allowed entrance before 1:00 p.m.
Conference participants are encouraged to bring and distribute business cards and capabilities statements to participants. Follow-up meetings with Center operators and Agency representatives may be scheduled at a later date, if mutually agreed upon.
In addition, this may be an excellent venue to identify potential subcontracting and/or partnering opportunities and learn more about the Job Corps Program, potential upcoming acquisition requirements (i.e., center operations and management, career technical training and vocational training, outreach and admissions and career transition services, security, architectural, engineering and construction services and procurement selection criteria). In addition, the last conference had participation from Workforce Investment Board members from around the United States.
Conference Location & Guided Tour: The Vendor Outreach Conference will be held at the Woodland Job Corps Center, Laurel, Maryland on Thursday, October 13, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The address is 3300 Fort Meade Road, Laurel, Maryland 20724. The center is conveniently nestled between the cities of Baltimore and Washington, D.C.

Visitor badges are issued by the security officer at the Visitor Entrance located at the Woodland Job Corps Center. Security officers at the Center reserve the right to grant or deny access at their discretion.

The last day to pre-register is close of business October 7, 2016.
