Description

This project is comprised of two areas of work. The first area of work is at the Degaussing Station Range Naval Station Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia. The Degaussing Station Range lies within the Entrance Reach Channel between Naval Station Norfolk and the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel. Maintenance and New Dredging is to be performed at this location via clamshell/bucket dredging. Approximately 40,000 cubic yards of material is to be dredged and then barged to an ocean disposal site or land based disposal site. In addition, fiberglass tubes, concrete tubes, and cabling is to be removed as part of the dredging operations. The second area of work is at Naval Station Norfolk waterfront. Maintenance Dredging is to be performed at this location via clamshell/bucket dredging around existing piers. Approximately 700,000 cubic yards of material is to be dredged and then barged to an ocean disposal site or land-based disposal site. The slips to be dredged under the base bid are identified as the ?Base Bid Dredging Areas? (brown shaded) on the Plans. As a bid option, another 550,000 cubic yards of material is to be dredged and then barged to an ocean disposal site or land-based disposal site. The slips to be dredged under the option item are identified as the ?Bid Option Dredging Areas? (red hatching) on the Plans.Minimum production rate for this area is 7,000 cubic yards per 24-hour period. (Please use this as Amendment 1) The previous amendment was just the solicitation.
