Description
Construction services will consist of maintenance dredging of the federal navigation
channels at Santa Barbara Harbor in Santa Barbara, CA. Dredge material will be placed on down coast
beaches. Dredging at Santa Barbara Harbor occurs biannually, generally in the late fall
(November/December) and early spring (March/April). A typical dredge cycle volume is 100,000 -
120,000 cubic yards. Dredging will occur in depths up to -35' MLLW in an exposed, open ocean
environment. For the past 15-20 years the Santa Barbara Air Pollution Control District has only
allowed electric dredges to work inside Santa Barbara Harbor.
Cost range for this project is $5,000,000.00 - $10,000,000.00.
The solicitation will be issued under Full and Open Competition without Exclusion of Sources.
Sub-contracting plans are required for all construction contracts awarded to a large business when
the award amount exceeds $1,500,000.00. Failure to submit an acceptable sub-contracting plan may
make the bidder ineligible for award of the contact.
The solicitation will be available on or about November 15, 2022. Plans and specifications will
not be provided in hard paper copy. The solicitation and all amendments for this Invitation for
bids will be posted and available for downloading on www.fbo.gov.
