Description
This Request for Information (RFI) initiates market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 and is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). The information herein only initiates communication with industry in order to assess market capability. No solicitation document exists at this time. This RFI constitutes no Government obligation to pay for information responding to this RFI and will not accept any responses as offers. Vendors should mark any proprietary information clearly and appropriately.
The Program Manager Ground Weapons Systems (PM GWS), Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM), seeks industry input to identify potential sources for a Container Delivery System Parachute, an expendable Joint Precision Airdrop System Parachute, and a life cycle replacement of the Tandem Offset Resupply Delivery System Parachute. This is a market research effort only.
*NOTE: Vendors may respond and provide business information, manufacturing capability and parachute information to one, two or all three of the parachutes listed below. The Government currently anticipates that any potential requirement on this subject will not exceed a quantity of 5 per each parachute system, which is subject to change.
CONTAINER DELIVERY SYSTEM PARACHUTE
The parachute system requirements are as follows:
- Capable of delivering a suspended load up to 2,200 pounds for a single parachute.
- Minimum deployment altitude of 475ft AGL for single parachute
- Compatible with the A22 Air Delivery Cargo Bag.
- Single Parachute packed weight not to exceed 128lbs.
JOINT PRECISION AIRDROP SYSTEM PARACHUTE
The parachute system requirements are as follows:
- Capable of delivering a suspended load between 700-2,150 pounds
- GPS guided.
- One time use/expendable system.
- Parachute deployment altitudes between 3,500 ft AGL to 24,500 ft. MSL.
LIFE CYCLE REPLACEMENT OF THE TANDEM OFFSET RESUPPLY DELIVERY SYSTEM PARACHUTE
The parachute system requirements are as follows:
- Capable of All-up weight of 650 pounds or higher.
- Capable of tandem passenger.
- Capable of delivering a parachutist with an oversized load.
- The parachute deployment altitude range between 5,000 ft AGL to 25,000 ft MSL.
- Automatic Activation Devise (AAD) capable for the reserve parachute.
- Compatible with the current USMC Parachute Oxygen System.
- Compatible with current USMC communications equipment.
