Description

This RFI is issued to exchange information and collect responses concerning interest, capabilities, and market information related to the enclosed draft. USAID Power Africa offers the opportunity for interested organizations and individuals to provide information, opinions, and recommendations on approaches for its next phase of implementation in the region.

The goal of Power Africa is to advance sub-Saharan Africa’s development through universal access to clean energy by 2030. To help meet this goal, Power Africa is working with partners and stakeholders to reach 30,000 megawatts of additional electricity and 60 million new household and business connections by 2030.

Power Africa focuses its efforts on assisting sub-Saharan African countries, with the exception of prohibited countries, per U.S. Government policies and limitations. Given Power Africa’s goal, increased USAID resources may be directed to those countries/regions that display an optimal mix of need, realizable opportunities, and local commitment to advance universal access to clean energy by 2030.
