NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT: Preventive Maintenance and Service Repair of Hologic Panther and Panther Fusion Laboratory Instruments

The Health Readiness Contracting Office- HRCO, JBSA, Fort Sam Houston, TX, intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole sourced contract for Preventive Maintenance and Service Repair of the Government owned Hologic Panther and Panther Fusion Laboratory Instruments at seven public health laboratories located around the globe. This requirement is for an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity maintenance services contract with a base and two option years awarded under Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Delivery Orders.  The service agreement will cover Government owned Hologic Panther and Panther Fusion Laboratory Instruments to include all labor, parts, material, and travel, to repair and /or maintain the Government owned equipment in a fully functional condition in accordance with (IAW) Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) specifications.  The proposed solicitation and the resulting award will be made on a SF 1449 for commercial services to Gen-Probe Incorporated, 250 Campus Dr., Marlborough, MA 01752-3020, CAGE Code 0BDV3.  The NAICS for this requirement is 621512 and the PSC Code is J066.

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source is in accordance with 41 U.S.C. 1901 as implemented by way of the procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 13.5. This Sole Source is authorized under FAR subpart 13.106-1(b), soliciting from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of this contract action deem only one source reasonably available.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by the closing date will be considered by the government.

A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
