Description
The United States Forest Service intends to award Multiple Award/Multiple Region (R1/R4) IDIQ contracts for Mechanical tree thinning, whole tree removal, processing, decking, mastication, excavator/machine piling, stand improvement, slash treatment, leave tree protection and slash pull-back, chipping, grinding, hauling, alternative slash treatments, fireline/fuelbreak construction, roadside brushing, road decommissioning, earth barrier construction, landing cleanup, rehabilitation, stump treatment, mowing, wet mowing, harrowing, chaining, water barring, unit preparation and other activities related to fuels treatment objectives. The work ordered by the Government under this contract will primarily consist of work requiring the use of heavy machinery and equipment, but some Task Orders may include work that will necessitate the use of manual labor and/or hand crews. Manual labor and/or hand crew work may include (but is not limited to) hand tree thinning, hand piling, slashing/bucking, hand constructed fireline and fuel break and other non-mechanized activities necessary to comply with contract specifications. The Contractor shall furnish everything necessary, including, but not limited to all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies, and incidentals to perform work under this contract.
These activities would occur on lands administered by the National Forests and National Grasslands within the boundaries of the Northern Region (Region One, R1) and the Intermountain Region (Region Four, R4) of the U.S. Forest Service.
