Description
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) herein issuance solicitation 15BFA023B00000028 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Replace Fire Alarm at the United States Penitentiary (USP Canaan), located in Waymart, PA.
United States Penitentiary (USP) Canaan is a federal owned facility located at 3057 Eric J. Williams Memorial Drive, Waymart PA, 18472. The project consists of the following:
The contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment for the Replace Fire Alarm at USP Canaan. The project includes removing and replacing twenty-one (21) existing fire alarm panels, two hundred twenty (220) manual pull stations, three hundred seventy-eight (378) smoke detectors, one hundred forty (140) duct smoke detectors, eleven (11) heat detectors, one hundred eight (108) remote test switch/indicator for duct detectors, three hundred fifty-nine (359) horn/strobes, one (1) waterproof horn/strobe, four hundred fifty-six (456) strobes, forty-eight (48) water flow switches, thirty (30) tamper switches, six (6) smoke purge panels, two (2) pressure switches, twenty-three (23) monitoring modules, one hundred-one (101) control modules. All newly installed fire alarm panels and related components and systems, upon completion of installation, shall be tested by the contractor to demonstrate system functionality.

Pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 36.204, the estimated magnitude of the project lies between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. (NOTE: This range is one of 8 available ranges from FAR 36.204 and is not meant to imply that the project has necessarily been estimated/budgeted to the maximum of the selected range. It merely conveys that the estimate/budget lies somewhere within that range).
The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this requirement is 238210 with a corresponding small business size standard of 19 Million. The solicitation is set aside exclusively for small business contractors.
