Description
This is a Sources Sought notice requesting information in support of identifying interested sources capable of providing long lead parts in support of the Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) contract for the Improved Turbine Engine Program (ITEP). A quantity of 23 sets of long lead parts for the YT901-GE-900 (T901) turboshaft engine will be needed for the Initial Operational Test and Evaluation (IOTE). The YT901 is the next generation turbo-shaft engine to be utilized in the Black Hawk (H-60), Apache (AH-64E), and Future Attack Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA) helicopter fleets. The IOTE will be conducted by the United States Government with maintenance support provided by both the Engine Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and Platform OEMs.
This is not a solicitation. No solicitation exists at this time, nor will a contract be awarded as a result of this request. Respondents are responsible for all expenses associated with responding to the Sources Sought. The information obtained will be reviewed for planning purposes only.
Clearly mark any proprietary information. Data submitted in response to this Sources Sought that is marked “proprietary” will be handled accordingly and will not be returned.
The purpose of this Sources Sought is to determine interest, industry capabilities, and recommendations from industry vendors regarding YT901-GE-900 turboshaft engine instrumentation for the Aviation Turbine Engines Project Office, Program Executive Office, Aviation (PEO Aviation). The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 336412.

The Government desires that all software and hardware have, at a minimum, Government Purpose Rights (GPR). Currently, the Government does not possess a complete Technical Data Package (TDP) for the YT901-GE-900 Series Engine, including system/ subsystem drawings, tooling drawings, software source code or models and simulations.
All interested firms with capabilities identified herein are encouraged to respond to this Sources Sought. Technical questions, data requests and industry responses to this Sources Sought are to be sent via emailed to Catherine.w.hill2.civ@army.mil. Respondents are requested to put “Sources Sought Response – YT901-GE-900 Engine Low-Rate Initial Production” in the subject line of the e-mail.
Electronic transmissions must not exceed 5 megabytes and responses in the form of white papers should be limited to 25 pages in length and may include technical specifications and product sheets as deemed necessary. All material submitted in response to this Sources Sought must be unclassified.
