Description

STATEMENT OF NEED Emergency Staff Radios 1. GENERAL James A. Haley Veterans Hospital (JAHVH) requires forty (40) portable radios and fifteen (15) speaker microphones with emergency buttons for use on the hospital campus for support operations. 2. BACKGROUND: This requirement is for the purchase of forty (40) VHF P25 Phase II radios. Having these assets gives the Government the ability to communicate on the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital grounds. These radios will provide users with the ability to communicate using the installed L3Harris P25 Phase II trunked system, as well as utilize the hospital s existing Wi-Fi infrastructure in areas of poor VHF RF coverage. 3. PURPOSE: These radios will provide Hospital staff with robust and redundant communications for use during normal and emergency operations. The ability of the user to seamlessly switch from P25 communications to Wi-Fi ensures users can overcome difficulties in operating a communications system in a hospital environment. 4. SCOPE: JAHVH is requesting contractors provide equipment that meets or exceeds the physical, functional, and performance of the listed salient characteristics in this section. The equipment feature is essential to the technical requirements to meet the needs of the government. The contractor must have access to the Hillsborough County Sheriff s Office (HCSO) L3Harris Vida Core for the purpose of managing the Wi-Fi user access on the HCSO Core.
