Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Deputy Director Of Infectious Diseases/National Center for Innumization and Respiratory Diseases/Office of the Director (CDC/DDID/NCIRD/OD)  intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to 10X Genomics, Inc., 6230 Stoneridge Mall Road, Pleasanton, CA  94588.

As part of CDC’s mission of influenza pandemic preparedness and response, the Influenza Division develops and interrogates various vaccines to determine their effectiveness.  Effective vaccines induce protective immunological memory, however, the precise mechanisms by which these manifests are often poorly understood. Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) is a relatively novel tool which provides the advantage of understanding responses to vaccination at the level of the individual cell in an unbiased manner. The need of the Influenza Division specifically centers around the ability to handle human and ferret peripheral blood monocytes (PBMCs) from cohorts with different vaccination status.  10X Genomics  is the sole market provider of kits capable of obtaining full-length V(D)J sequences for paired B-cell or T-cell receptors.

This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP).  Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within ten (10) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government.  A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist, Alverta Lopez at qvb0@cdc.gov by COB June 14, 2023.
