Description
The purpose of this contract is for forest stand improvement of approximately 430 acres of forest resources and wildlife habitat on Army lands in the Piney Woods Region of Northeast Texas, on the Red River Army Depot (RRAD). The project consist of applying herbicide for forestry purposes on the 430 acres to control unwanted and undesirable species. Army Regulation 200-1, Environmental Protection and Enhancement requires that installations inventory and manage their forest resources. The forest stand improvement is needed to more effectively manage for the conditions required by the Army on the lands to help support the mission, improve wildlife habitat, and to maintain the current ecosystem integrity of the stands by killing encroaching and invasive species.
