N66001-22-Q- 6543 - Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Order to Plasma Etch, Inc.
This synopsis is hereby issued in accordance with FAR Part 5.201. The purpose of this synopsis is to
announce the Department of the Navy, Naval Information Warfare Center, Pacific's (NIWC Pacific) intent to
award a firm fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Plasma Etch, Inc. under the authority of
FAR 13.106‐1(b) due to only one source being reasonably available to meet the Government's needs.

The requirement is for quantity (1) PE-100-RIE Benchtop Plasma Etching System

This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any responsible source believing that it can
fulfill the requirement may be considered by the contracting agency. Interested parties may identify their
interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis, and must clearly show the firm's ability to be
responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy, and reliability of products/services provided.
Responses must be submitted in writing via email no later than 12 PM PST on 22 September 2022.
Telephone responses and requests will not be accepted. A determination by the Government not to
compete the requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the
Government. Acquisition of Commercial Items under FAR Part 12 and Simplified Acquisitions Procedures
under FAR Part 13 apply.
The applicable NAICS Code is 333249 Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing, and the size standard is
500 employees.
