Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - St. Paul District requires a contractor to inspect and rebuild one (1) 12 ft. hydraulic cylinder that is used to operate the miter gates on Lock & Dam 1 in Minneapolis, MN. The hydraulic cylinder that is in need or repair/overhaul is a Parker-Hannifin Series 2H, Style C. It has a 8" bore, 4.5” rod diameter and 8’ 8” stroke length. The cylinder was operational when removed from the primary #2 miter gate during Winter 2022.

The used Parker-Hannifin Series 2H, Style C hydraulic cylinder shall have the following service and
repairs performed:

  • Clean, drain, tear down and inspect all internal and external components for wear and damage.
  • Inspect the rod to make sure it is not bent, scratched or gouged and rebuild if necessary.
  • The rod should be polished smooth and the internal tube should be machined and honed.
  • Replace the gland, piston and any other wear items including seals and bearings
  • Remove brass bushing that are in the eye of the rod-end and replace with customer supplied stainless steel bearings.
  • Polish the end caps
  • Diagnose the cause of any damage to help prevent it from occurring again.
  • Re-assemble and pressure test
  • Re-paint with lead-free V766E vinyl-based industrial paint.
    • Gray color
    • 8 mils thick

The repaired cylinder shall be delivered on or before 20 March, 2022.

Cylinder will be delivered to and picked up from the vendor within a 50-mile radius of Lock and Dam 1. Beyond 50 miles, freight will be provided by the contractor. Lock and Dam 1 is located on the Mississippi River mile 847.9 and 5000 West River Parkway in Minneapolis, MN.

OFFEROR SHALL BE REGISTERED IN SAM (System for Award Management) https://www.sam.gov to include the FAR and DFARS Representations and Certifications (Reps & Certs) sections with the NAICS code applicable to the solicitation.
