Description
SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is operated by Stanford University for the Department of Energy. As a management and operating contractor, subcontracts awarded by the Laboratory are not Federal procurements, and are not directly subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulations in 48 CFR. Nonetheless, certain Federal laws, Executive Orders, and regulations may affect our DOE approved purchasing system, as required by statute, regulation, or contract terms and conditions.
Required item(s) listed below:
1.) Nanoindenter instrument that applies nano-newton forces to materials and measures the material property response.
Quote is for product only; no on-site services permitted.
Source selection will be based on Lowest Priced Technically Acceptable Method.
Technical criteria are as follows:
- Indenter with range of measurement protocols from 0.5nN to 2N. Displacement range 50 pm to 20µm
- Sample Stage travel range at least 100 x 100 mm with at least 5 sample mounts
- Software suite for nanoindentation including property mapping, fatigue testing, dataprocessing & visualization
- Table top vibration isolation platform
- Compatible computer with two screens
- In-situ SEM nanoindenter enabling nanomechanical testing of samples in an SEM/FIB. Force sensing range from 0.5nN to 200 mN. Position sensing range from 50pm to 20µm (fine) or 20 mm (coarse). This package must include testing principles – compression, dynamic fracture, nanoindentation and fatigue testing.

August 2023) and SLAC On-Site Terms and Conditions for Non-Green (Rev. March 2021) will be made a part of the resulting order. Please mark up terms and conditions if you wish to negotiate. No mark ups mean that you accept SLAC Terms and Conditions.
Please provide Certificate of Insurance and Injury and Illness Prevention Plan filled out and returned together with proposal.
Payment Terms will be NET-30
