Qualification and experience requirements of Contract nursing staff. The Contractor shall provide nursing staff in the nursing staff specialties with the qualifications and experience described in the paragraphs below.
Nurse Practitioners (NPs). Contract NPs shall have:
A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the
District of Columbia.
Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) by an American Health
Association Vendor.
Current certification in Advanced and Basic Life Support (ACLS/BLS).
A minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
VA experience is desirable.
Registered Nurses (RNs). Contract RNs, including Specialty Registered Nurses, shall have:
A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the
District of Columbia.
Current certification in CPR by an American Health Association Vendor.
Current Basic Life Support certification. If assigned to a specialty clinic, RN shall also
have current ACLS certification.
A minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
VA experience is desirable.
Specialty Registered Nurses. Specialty Registered Nurses shall have:

A minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the specialty care setting
to which being assigned.
A certification in the assigned specialty care area discipline is highly desirable.
Critical Care Registered Nurses shall have a minimum of two years current experience in
this field and hold and maintain BLS and ACLS and or certification.
Med/Surg Registered Nurses, Radiology Nurses (RN), and Chronic Hemodialysis Nurse
(RN) and Psychiatric Nurse (RN), shall be experienced in this field.
Psychiatric RNs working in Acute Locked Psychiatry shall possess current ProAct or
equivalent Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) training and or certification.
Understands the Principles of Chemotherapy and the various Chemotherapeutic Agents.
Chemotherapy and Oncology RNs shall:
Understand the Principles of Chemotherapy and the various Chemotherapeutic
Agents.
Possess knowledge of fundamental of Chemotherapy Administration, safety
measures for administration, Treatment schedules, Pretreatment and Treatment.
Possess knowledge of complications of Cytotoxic Therapy and what

Be competent in the Management of Patients Receiving Chemotherapy with
specific skills in assessment, patient education, Toxicity management and
Oncologic Emergencies.
The Contractor shall provide Specialty RNs for the following specialty care settings:
Emergency & Intensive (Critical) Care Units
Operating Room & Interventional Cardiology & Radiology
Cardiology & Gastroenterology Laboratories
Post Anesthesia Care Unit
Hemodialysis Unit
Inpatient Psychiatric Unit
Wound Care and Ostomy (Inpatient & Outpatient)

Infusion Clinic
Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVNs). LVNs shall have:
A current license in at least one (1) state, territory, or commonwealth in the U.S. or the
District of Columbia.
Current certification in CPR by an American Health Association Vendor.
Current Basic Life Support certification.
A minimum of one (1) year direct patient care experience within the last three (3) years.
LVNs working in Acute Locked Psychiatry shall possess current ProAct or equivalent
MAB training and or certification.
Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA). CNAs shall have:
Current certification as a CNA by the State Department of Consumer Affairs.
Current certification in CPR by an American Health Association Vendor.
Current BLS certification.

The Contractor shall ensure all nursing staff provided under this contract meet the following requirements:
Be current on tuberculosis testing, rubella testing, and all immunizations prior to
performing services.
Have the knowledge and ability to use computers and technology efficiently in the course
of the duties and responsibilities outlined herein.
