High-Speed Data Acquisition System (HSDAS) Hardware and Associated Repair Services

This synopsis provides notice of the Government's intent to solicit a proposal on a sole source basis from the incumbent Curtiss Wright – Teletronics, a Curtiss Wright company, 15 Terry Drive, Newtown, PA 18940 for the supply of High Speed Data Acquisition System (HSDAS) hardware and associated repair services. This requirement includes the procurement of new Curtiss Wright High Speed Data Acquisition System (HSDAS) units and associated components, and repair services, field services, and the technical support of HSDAS units procured under this contract and also for previously procured legacy Common Airborne Instrumentation System (CAIS) for the Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL) at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Patuxent River, MD.  This is a follow-on contract with Curtiss Wright – Teletronics, a Curtiss Wright company, who is the only known qualified and responsible source in support of the Special Flight Test Instrumentation Pool (SFTIP) under the Prototyping Instrumentation and Experimentation (PIE) Department, Airborne Instrumentation Division at NAWCAD.  Curtiss Wright – Teletronics, a Curtiss Wright company, is the sole manufacturer and seller of the required Airborne Instrumentation hardware that is currently in use by the NAVAIR SFTIP.  Equipment available through other manufacturers is neither electrically or mechanically compatible with the existing Curtiss Wright hardware in use, which must be completely compatible in order to work as part of an integrated instrumentation system. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Curtiss Wright – Teletronics, a Curtiss Wright company, under the authority for other than full and open competition, 10 U.S.C 3204(a)(1) and implemented via Federal Acquisition Regulations Subpart 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency’s requirement.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information received. No telephone responses will be accepted.
