Description

The FAA is conducting this Market Survey to determine the level of interest in the subject project. Please respond with interest to Darren.odegard@faa.gov No contract of any kind will be a result of this announcement.

Summary of Work

All quantities noted in this summary are approximate, for indication of magnitude only.

1. New guardrails attached to the outside of low-slope-roof low parapets.  Guardrails will be two-rail, galvanized steel pipe guardrails, with posts approximately 4 feet on center, attached to precast concrete walls, with kick-plates not required.  Height of guardrails, from bottom of the posts to the top of the top rail will be approximately 4.3 feet.  All galvanized steel guardrail components will be shop-finished with an epoxy-urethane high performance coating system. Approximately 1650 linear feet of guardrail.

2. New fall-protection tie-back points on the outside of pre-cast concrete walls above metal-roofed canopies below.  Approximately 5 tie-back points.

3. New galvanized steel, exterior stair to the roof from the ground level.  Installation of the stair will include construction of concrete foundation and concrete bottom landing. The stair treads and landing decks will be fiber reinforced plastic grating.  All galvanized steel stair components will be shop-finished with an epoxy-polyurethane high performance coating system. The stair will have approximately 35 treads total, with one mid-level landing and an approximately 9.6 feet long top-level landing.

4. Six-foot high, galvanized steel fence and gate around the bottom of the stair, shop-finished similar to the stair steel components.  Approximately 18 linear feet of fence, plus a 3.5 foot gate.

5. Lightning protection system (LPS) bonding of the new guardrails and stair to the existing roof LPS, and new LPS air terminals on the guardrails.
