DESCRIPTION:

The National Institute of Standards and Technology’s Materials for Energy and Sustainable Development Group develops and disseminates measurement science, measurement standards, and measurement technology pertaining to the measurement of all functional properties of advanced materials and devices, including chemical, electrical, thermal, optical, and magnetic properties. The Group also determines and disseminates key data needed to establish the relationships between structure, functional properties, and performance of inorganic and hybrid materials and devices. The Group's activities are carried out in three project areas: Combinatorial Measurement Methods, Nanocalorimetry, and Thermoelectric Measurements and Standard

To meet mission requirements, a refurbishment along with upgraded control hardware and software for NIST Luminos Sputter tool.

Sole Source justification is based on the following:

Extensive market research was performed utilizing GSA Advantage, the Dynamic Small Business Database and the Internet to locate vendors. The eKLipse Controls Software.is a proprietary software to the manufacturer. The manufacturer (Kurt J. Lesker Company) is the only source for parts, software upgrades and maintenance upgrades. There are no authorized third-party providers.

NAICS code for this requirement will be 811219 – Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with a small business size of $20.5M.

No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties who regard themselves as capable of fulfilling these requirements are invited to submit responses to the Government for consideration. Responses received by 08/23/2022 will be considered by the Government.
