Description

The scope of this project for Design-Build (DB) construction services to build seven (7) earth covered reinforced concrete Munitions Storage Magazines (MSMs) also referred to as igloos, measuring 26 feet x 80 feet each, capable of storing 500,000 pounds of Class 1.1 munitions each. Work is anticipated to include demolition of 1,350 Square Meters (SM) in obsolete facilities to clear the site for the new igloos, as well as construction of access roads, reinforced concrete aprons, utilities, site improvements, communication support, and all other necessary support for the Air Force Training Center (AFTC) at - Hill Air Force Base (HAFB), Utah (UT). Facilities must be designed as permanent construction in accordance with the Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) 1-200-01. Sustainable principles, to include life cycle cost-effective practices, must be incorporated into the design, development, and construction of this project in accordance with UFC 1-200-02. This project must comply with DoD Antiterrorism Force Protection (AT/FP) requirements per UFC 4-010-01. Facility must meet DoD Explosive Safety Board (DDESB) requirements in design and construction.
