Description

  1. General Information

The Government will use the information acquired from this RFI solely for investigative purposes and will not be sharing responses with marketplace competitors. The Government does NOT seek to obtain proprietary or otherwise protected documents resulting from this RFI.  The sole intent of this market research is to obtain marketplace information about the capabilities of manufacturing the Army’s NeXtECU.

RFI participation provides an important guide to influence the Government's approach in the procurement of a NeXtECU. The Government will not compensate RFI contributors and participation is at the discretion of the respondent(s). The information contained in this RFI is not a means to seek payment, reimbursement or other consideration from the Government. Moreover, the intention of this RFI is not to solicit proposals.

II. Objectives

The US Army has developed a common controller that can be used for multiple purposes to support current and future platforms called the NeXtECU.  The NeXtECU design takes advantage of the Infineon Aurix 2G family of processors and contains a large number of input and outputs such as 12 injector drivers, H-Bridge drivers, Real Time Clock, 36 analog active sensors, 22 passive Inputs, 16 constant current drivers, multiple high side and low side Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Drivers, 9 CAN Channels, 100BaseT Ethernet, 16 Thermocouples, and Hardware Security Module, to name a few.  With the large number of inputs and outputs the NeXtECU can be used for multiple purposes throughout the vehicle and support multiple combat vehicle platforms for powertrain and supervisory controls while supporting the latest in cyber security requirements. The design of the NeXtECU was developed by the Government and the following is a request to provide manufacturing capability and lead time information, along with a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost to produce the current design.  Subject to Section III below, the Government will provide the following Government Technical Data:

1) Build of Materials (BOM) including Connector Information

2) Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Design (Gerber Files)

3) Schematic/Layout Files

4) Case Design (Step File)

III. Instructions

a. For access to the Government Technical Data, please send a copy of your approved DD Form 2345, Military Critical Technical Data Agreement, along with an executed copy of Attachment 001, NeXtECU Non-Disclosure and Non-Use Agreement, to Dairria Bynum at dairria.c.bynum.civ@army.mil and Angela Neda at angela.neda.civ@army.mil.
