NNSA NOTICE OF INTENT - WOSB

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. This is a notice of intent to solicit and award a sole source contract under statutory authority 10 USC 2304(c)(5), set forth in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-5 Authorized or Required by Statute and FAR 19.1506(b) Women Owned Small Business Program. The National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) is considering soliciting and awarding a sole source contract to  Sensor Concepts and Applications (SCA), located in Glen Arm, MD. The anticipated period of performance will be for Six Months.      

The Office of Nuclear Smuggling Detection and Deterrence (NSDD) within the NNSA periodically evaluates new commercial technologies and equipment that are available on the market in order to determine if improvements to their equipment fleet are possible and cost-effective. SCA will characterize the performance of new and revised models of small portable handheld or wearable radiation detectors in order to inform the NSDD management of the current capabilities of equipment on the market. This will include characterization of the performance of Radioisotope Identification Devices (RIDs) and comparison to current NSDD-deployed systems and provision of feedback to industry on instrument performance.

This notice of intent is NOT a request for proposals or quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
