6550--Notice of Intent to Sole Source Cepheid Reagents & Supplies

This notice IAW FAR 5.2-Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions is not a request for quotes, but rather a notice of intent to sole source. It is at the Government s discretion to consider responses to this notice. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a Firm Fixed Price 5 Year Blanket Purchase Agreement for CEPHEID reagents and supplies. The items are compatible with Government owned Cepheid GeneXpert systems currently in use at multiple VAMC locations throughout VISN 1 and fill a critical role in the testing of respiratory viruses, including Covid-19, and several other bacterial/viral infections. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed award upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No reimbursement for any cost connected with providing capability information will be provided.
