Notice of Intent to sole source maintenance agreement for extrahera systems

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Organic Analytical Toxicology Branch (OATB) intends to award a sole source contract to Biotage, LLC. (Biotage), 10430 Harris Oak Blvd, for preventative maintenance agreements for their proprietary Extrahera system.

The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The NAICS code for this procurement is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.

The acquisition is to provide annual maintenance and repair services for three (3) Extrahera automation systems.  Biotage is the manufacturer of these systems, and they are the only contractor with the expertise necessary to service these machines.

As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps. We will issue only one solicitation to Biotage, LLC.

Responsible sources that believe they can meet these requirements may submit their capabilities/qualifications statement to provide these services to Mike Davis VIA EMAIL ONLY at VWL8@CDC.GOV with the solicitation number 78397 referenced in the subject line NO LATER THAN 3 PM EST on August 11, 2023. The Contracting Officer will not respond to phone calls or verbal requests. ALL REQUESTS MUST BE IN WRITING.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action are solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
