Description

This Solicitation is a request for quotations (RFQ) for Virtual Pharmacy Services for the Durham VA Medical Center. The Durham VA Medical Center is seeking a contractor to provide prescription finishing services on a daily basis provided by a licensed pharmacist to keep the number of pending prescriptions routed for mail to 500 or less on a daily basis. Prescription finishing includes verification of appropriate dose, route, quantity, accurate directions, evaluation for drug-drug interactions, contraindications, recorded allergies and assuring the printed labels will be understandable to the patients.  Finished prescriptions will be suspended for Consolidated Mail-out Patient Pharmacy (CMOP).  The contractor will strive for a zero-error rate in all aspects of the finishing process.

The contractor shall not finish prescriptions that are problematic, including new prescriptions for non-formulary or restricted medications, prescriptions that are contraindicated due to drug-drug interactions or allergies or prescriptions for dosages outside the recommended dosing ranges.
