Description
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) awarded a sole source purchase order Spectra Vista Corporation (cage code 3YLZ0), 29 Firemen’s Way, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603-6518, United States. Spectra Vista Corporation, will provide one (1) each underwater spectrometer. The purpose of the underwater spectrometer is to provide reference data for data comparison and sensor validation, to improve safety of navigation and understanding of the maritime environment. Spectra Vista Corporation, is the only manufacturer of a underwater spectrometer that meets the NGA salient requirements in North America.
Salient requirements:
• Field portable spectrometer;
• Spectrometer must be able to be operated by a single user;
• Spectrometer must be stand alone, i.e. does not require additional computer and/or control devices to operate;
• Spectrometer must be able to be equipped with underwater enclosure allowing depths of at least 100 feet;
• Spectrometer must be capable of sensing in the 400-1000nm region underwater with extended ability to sense between 1000-2300nm above water;
• Spectrometer must be capable of matching (equal or better) spectral resolution of current NGA Research field spectrometer: 3.5 nm, 350 – 1000 nm, 9.5 nm, 1000 – 1880 nm, 6.5 nm, 1880–2500 nm;
• Spectrometer must be capable of matching (equal or better) spectral accuracy: ±1 nm VNIR, ±2 nm SWIR;
• Spectrometer must be able to communicate with computing device for signature data transfer without removing the spectrometer from the enclosure;
• Spectrometer must be able to have changeable field of view optics and standoff detection;
• Must be acquired by the government within three months of award.
