Description

Army Contracting Command – Rock Island (ACC-RI) is seeking possible sources of supply for the acquisition of the following services:

This is a sources sought for sterilization services to bio-consumable products. Bio-consumables are the liquid media used with a detector to identify and detect suspect biological agents (i.e., bacterium, virus, or fungus) in the event of a biological threat. Exposing the bio-consumable products to gamma radiation sterilizes them so that they can successfully detect biological agents. 

Estimated the number of treatments per year will vary and may range from 1 to 3 per type per year, in varying case amounts from 28 to 96 cases/sterilization service, case sizes are as follow:

                        Type I             12” x 6” x 10.5”                      Weight 7 lbs

                        Type II            31” x 11” x 7”                         Weight 13 lbs

                        Type IV          13.5” x 11’ x 7.75”                 Weight 6.5 lbs

                        Type V            13.5” x 5.25” x 6.125”            Weight 7 lbs

The Bio-Consumable Packs shall be irradiated at the following doses:

                        Types I, II and V         5 to 10 kGy

                        Type IV                      2 to 5 kGy

All Bio-Consumable Packs shall receive Gamma sterilization treatment within 24 hours of being delivered to the Contractor facility.    

The cases shall not be opened in order to perform the Gamma irradiation. 

All packages will be returned to Pine Bluff Arsenal per the contractual agreement for expedited shipping. A Certificate of Conformance will be required with each completed shipment.

Delivery location is FOB Destination Pine Bluff Arsenal (PBA), Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
