Description

This is a design-build contract therefore the awarded contractor is required to perform design work prior to construction. The awarded contractor is responsible and liable for the complete design and shall not assume that the provided design criteria and drawings in this solicitation will alleviate him/her from performing any additional design as required to produce a complete set of construction documents.

Scope of Work: This Design Build project will remove and replace the West portion of the 388th/419th Fighter Wing F-35 Apron. The existing sunshade shelters located on the apron will also be removed and replaced. The majority of the pavement is identified in the latest Pavement Evaluation as A17B. The existing pavement is approximately 40 years old and has exceeded its design life. The existing panels are oversized and will be replaced with appropriately sized panels. The project will consist of removing the exiting 12” PCC and replacing with 15” PCC. The new pavement section will incorporate a stabilized drainage layer and new subbase course material. In addition to new PCC parking apron and ACC shoulders, the sunshades will be dismantled, recycled and new sunshades installed. Existing crew shacks will be removed and relocated. One additional crew shack will be provided so that each parking row will have a crew shack. As part of this project, the apron will be re-marked.

Contractor shall perform work as stated in this Attachment 1 Summary of Work, Attachment 2 –Concept Design Drawings, Attachment 3 Supplemental Contract Requirements. The project shall be designed within the criteria prescribed, as well as other codes and standards specified in the contract.
