Gavins Point Tailrace Bulkheads

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District hereby announces a solicitation for “Gavins Point Tailrace Bulkheads.” The solicitation will close on 27 June 2022. The solicitation is restricted to Small Business participation.

Site Visit:

The site visit is scheduled for 07 June 2022. Additional information regarding the site visit is provided in the solicitation via Section 00 21 00.  

Project Description: 

This project is to fabricate six (6) new draft tube bulkheads, including new rubber seals to replace the existing tailrace bulkheads at Gavins Point Dam in Crofton, NE. Prior to commencing the bulkhead fabrication, the awarded Contractor will field verify critical dimensions.

Upon completion of work, Contractor will be required to perform a functionality test in the field to ensure bulkhead operations occur smoothly in the slot and to test water tightness of the new bulkhead, i.e. how well does the bulkhead seal.  After government acceptance of the new bulkheads, existing bulkheads will be removed and disposed of by the awarded Contractor.  The awarded Contractor shall also provide inspection reports and as-built drawings for the new bulkheads.

The Contractor will be required to commence work upon receipt of contract award and complete the work 480 days after receipt of Notice to Proceed, this is subject to change after solicitation issuance. 

Estimated Construction Costs :

The estimated construction cost of this project is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
