Description

Response To Prebid RFI for 632-22-138 Replace Fire and Smoke Doors Some of the drawings (F-5-1 as an example the tag marking is obscured. Can you supply drawing that have a clearer view of all door tags. Response: Drawings provided are clear to use. DOOR TAG (5-0-1, 5-0-2 stair, 5-0-3, 5-0-4, 6-0-1, 6-0-2,6-0-3,6-0-4,6-0-2 stair, 6-0-1 stair, 9-0-1, 9-0-1 stair, 9-0-2,9-1-2 stair, 10-0-1-HE,10-0-1 stair, 10-0-2 stair, 10-0-2 63-1-1 stair 64-1- 1- stair 92-1-14) please confirm the door size and throat example: tag 5-0-1/ 40 high x 84 wide x throat no size given. Response: The highlighted items on the revised Exhibit B Master list in yellow was updated for RFI response. The high-lighted items in orange were removed from the project and should be disregarded on the drawing. Please use attached Revised Exhibit B Master Door List. The hardware schedule in the technical specification 081113 fails to give the model, make nor manufacture information on all hardware sets. Response: The highlighted items on the revised Exhibit B Master list in yellow was updated for RFI response. The high-lighted items in orange were removed from the project and should be disregarded on the drawing. Please use attached Revised Exhibit B Master Door List. The door schedule nor the drawings illustrate hardware set identification symbols shown on drawings. Only those hardware sets that are shown on drawings will be required / drawings do not illustrate what set to use. Example 3.5 HARDWARE SETS A. Following sets of hardware correspond to hardware symbols shown on drawings. Only those hardware sets that are shown on drawings will be required. Disregard hardware sets listed in specifications but not shown on drawings. Response: The highlighted items on the revised Exhibit B Master list in yellow was updated for RFI response. The high-lighted items in orange were removed from the project and should be disregarded on the drawing. Please use attached Revised Exhibit B Master Door List. There are a lot of openings in Exhibit B Master Fire Smoke Door List that are in orange that do not list a requested action. Are those openings receiving any type of corrective action? Response: We didn t see anything highlighted in orange. When disposing of product and doors during the project will there be a space that a small construction dumpster can be placed? Response: Yes, a determined location established by the Contracting Officer Representative (COR). What type of Infection control procedures will be required in general and patient care areas? Response: All ICRA permits required are type 1 and class A. The VA Infection Control Staff will issue all permits required prior to starting an area of work. On openings that are receiving a new door but the existing hardware is to be used. If it is found during the install process that the hardware is defective will a change order be issued to cover that replacement cost? Response: All hardware being replaced; the contractor will turn in to Engineering COR. If Engineering didn t specify a specific hardware that needs to be replaced, the locksmith will supply the hardware not specified on the master list.
