Description
The U.S. Forest Service hereby solicits offers for a planned single award, Firm-Fixed Price contract type with an estimated magnitude for the base and options between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The Government anticipates awarding a sole contract for the repair of Stunner Bridge located in Rio Grande National Forest, CO. Additional awards, at Forest Service discretion, may be considered depending on Forest Service need and results for proposal evaluations. Prospective offerors are required to submit proposals in accordance with the forthcoming solicitation.
This will be set aside for 8(a) businesses. Successful offerors must be certified as an 8(a) business by the Small Business Administration (SBA) prior to contract award.
Scope of Work:
The work shall consist of what is shown on the plans, stated in the specifications, and summarized below:
- Establish the traffic control signing as required
- Install the bridge rails
- Remove trees and clear and grub as required
- Obliterate the old road and use the material to complete the new embankments
- Excavate for footings
- Install asphalt paving
- Construct the footings
- Install the approach rails
- Construct the abutments and wingwalls
- Open the road new road to traffic
- Backfill the abutments
- Close the road to existing bridge
- Grade portions of the channel banks under the new bridge
- Remove the existing bridge
- Install riprap adjacent to the new structure
- Complete the grading at the location of the original bridge and road
- Erect the steel girders
- Complete the riprap installation along the stream
- Place concrete deck
- Prepare the finished grading and apply seeding
- Construct the remaining backfill and a portion of the approach embankments
Location(s):
The bridge carries FSR 250 over the Alamosa River. The bridge is located southwest of Monte Vista, Colorado and is just off of FSR 250 approximately 28 miles west of State Highway 15 in the Rio Grande National Forest.
