Purchase of Sigma DS3 Printers for CMS

INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE:   The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services intends to award using Simplified Acquisition Procedures (Dollar Threshold $250,000), a fixed priced order for the purchase of five (5) Sigma DS3 Printers, Dual -Sided 125 Card Input Hopper, Identive SCM Contact/Contactless Reader Encoders from J O’Brien Co, Inc., 40 Commerce Street, Springfield, NJ 07081-3004.  The sole source award  will be made under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 © (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies and Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements.  A Justification and Approval has been approved. The requirement is intended as a sole source contract because through market research and analysis it has been determined that J O’Brien is the only company that can supply the Sigma DS3 printers including all parts and trade-in rebates.  Their product is highly specialized equipment that meets the requirements of CMS in accordance with the attached Statement of Work. The North American Industry Classification Codes (NAICS) is 334290.  Interested Parties:  All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.  To be considered, interested vendors must submit technical literature describing their capability to effectively satisfy this requirement, as well as terms and conditions and a complete price quote within 5 days of this notice, to the following electronic mail address: phillip.harrell@cms,hhs.gov.
