Description

The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Thermo Electron North America LLC, 1400 Northpoint Pkwy Ste 10, West Palm Beach, FL 33407-1976 (Cage Code: 3WXJ7) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), NAS North Island, CA has a requirement for the repair of one (1) Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectrometer (ICP), Model No. iCAP6300DV. Thermo Electron North America LLC is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the ICP.  As the OEM, Thermo Electron North America LLC is the only vendor certified to provide support, maintenance and upgrade services to ensure the ICP instrument will perform in accordance with OEM specifications.  The results of market research indicate no vendor other than Thermo Electron North America LLC is able to meet the Government’s specific requirements.  For this reason, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Thermo Electron North America LLC.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
