Notice Purpose:

The USDA, Forest Inventory & Analysis, Southern Research Station (SRS) needs a Computer Software Trainer at New Horizon facility, Knoxville, Tennessee.

The NAICS 611420 Computer Training, Size $16M

Period of Performance:

Aug 15, 2023 through Aug 14, 2025 (approx.)

Scope:

Providing technical training and education on data programs to enhance the capacity and capabilities of our staff. Gaining these skills will allow the enrolled employees to efficiently query our database, present findings in clear and aesthetically pleasing ways, and allow for transparency and security. These skills directly relate to our mission to analyze and present data. The increased efficiency is especially important when our staff is required to perform rapid analysis, such as disaster impacts on the forest resource.

In-depth training tailored to our staff needs (i.e. focused on techniques and topics pertaining to FIA relational databases) bringing attendees from novice to intermediate/advanced levels of understanding. Specific courses include coding languages for data queries; data visualization programs; and code repository/posting. Six courses, nineteen days, roughly ten to fifteen students per course. Staff from multiple functional groups (e.g. analysis, resource use, methods) and research stations will be enrolled.
