Description:

The U.S. Embassy Tashkent, Office of Contracting, intends to award a sole source contract to Toyota Central Asia FZE for the purchase of New Motor Vehicles. Toyota Central Asia FZE is uniquely qualified to meet the specific requirements of the U.S. Embassy Tashkent due to their regional dealership status in Central Asia and particularly in Uzbekistan and proven track record of providing high-level of warranty services and maintenance services that meet the Government stringent safety standards. They have the capability to provide vehicles that are specifically suited for local road and weather conditions, as well as low fuel quality, and to offer OEM parts with warranty services.

Justification for Sole Source:

This procurement is being conducted in accordance with the statutory authority of FAR 6.302-1, which states that only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Toyota Central Asia FZE is the only vendor that provides vehicles with official warranty from the factory required by the U.S. Embassy Tashkent. Given the poor quality of gasoline in Uzbekistan, Toyota Central Asia FZE is also capable of providing essential maintenance services under warranty in a timely manner.

Response Information:

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any interested party that believes it can meet the requirements described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirement. Responses must be submitted in writing to the point of contact listed below and must be received no later than September 20, 2024, 12:00 PM Tashkent Time. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
