REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)//Sources Sought: THIS IS NOT A NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR Quotations BUT INFORMATION AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY!  As stipulated in FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not considered offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract.  No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation.  The decision to solicit for a contract shall be solely within the Government's discretion. There is no obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services described in this Sources Sought Notice. You will not be entitled to payment for direct or indirect costs that you incur in responding to this Sources Sought Notice. Any contract that might be awarded based on information received or derived from this market research will be the outcome of a competitive process. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary, restricted or competition sensitive information contained in their response.

This notice is issued by NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) to post a draft Statement of Work (SOW) and draft Performance Specification to acquire responses from interested parties. This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition.


NASA/KSC is conducting a sources sought for companies that can provide Rollout Purge Units (RPU). The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed 333415, Air-Conditioning and Warm Air Heating Equipment and Commercial and Industrial Refrigeration Equipment Manufacturing and the size standard for this NAICS is 1,250 employees. The PSC is 4120, Air Conditioning Equipment.

Please see the attached Requirements Checklist that outlines essential information to be collected from this sources sought. The draft SOW, Performance Specification, and accompanying attachments have been provided for review.

Interested parties are also welcome to identify any ambiguities with the SOW and are welcome to suggest enhancements to the SOW and include them separately with their capability statement. The government is interested in all businesses including (8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), or, if applicable based on NAICS code, Economically disadvantaged women-owned small business (EDWOSB) Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB) that are interested in performing this requirement.

The RFI/sources sought number NNK23ZES001L shall be used to reference any written responses to this RFI. Any information submitted by respondents to this RFI/sources sought synopsis is voluntary. This RFI/sources sought notice is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government reimburse any costs associated with the submission of information in response to this notice.  Respondents will not be individually notified of the results of any government assessments. The Government's evaluation of the capability statements received will factor into whether any forthcoming solicitation will be conducted as a full and open competition or as a set-aside for small businesses, or any particular small business designation (e.g. SDVOSB, HUBZone, 8(a), SDB, WOSB, VOSB, etc.).
