Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – New England District is issuing a Solicitation Notice for Utility Building and Garage Rehabilitation, Birch Hill Dam, Royalston, MA.
THE WORK CONSISTS OF: Furnish all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to renovate, repair, and rehabilitate the exterior of two buildings at the Birch Hill Dam Project. The two buildings are referred to as the Utility Building and the Maintenance Garage. Due to the age of the buildings, it is a requirement of the contract that the Contractor test the Utility Building and Maintenance garage for asbestos containing material (ACM) and Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) only in areas impacted by the work identified in this statement of work. If ACM is identified, then the Government may exercise the optional line item 1 (Asbestos Abatement Option) to properly dispose of all material that contains ACM. If PCBs are identified, then the Government may exercise the optional line item 2 (Polychlorinated Biphenyls Disposal Option) to properly dispose of all material that contains PCBs. Another component of this rehabilitation includes proper removal and disposal of items that contain lead paint.
The Utility Building rehabilitation work includes the removal and disposal of existing exterior entry doors, existing overhead garage doors including tracks and motors, windows, degraded clapboards, rigid foam board insulation, vinyl siding, and trim on the 66 ft. x 24 ft single-story building. The Contractor shall properly install new exterior entry doors, new overhead garage doors, tracks, and motors, windows, framing, insulation, plywood sheathing, house wrap, rigid foam insulation, vinyl siding, and vinyl trim as a requirement for the exterior rehabilitation of the Utility Building.
The Maintenance Garage rehabilitation work includes removal and disposal of existing degraded framing, existing entry door, existing overhead garage doors and tracks, windows, vinyl siding, foam board insulation, and trim on the 51ft. x 25 ft. single story building. The Contractor shall install new framing, entry door, overhead garage doors with tracks, windows, house wrap, rigid foam insulation, vinyl siding, and vinyl trim as a requirement for the exterior rehabilitation of the Maintenance Garage.
All work shall be completed in accordance with the following Statement of Work, state and local building codes and completed by a licensed contractor.
