AMENDMENT 0002 May 19,2023:

Yes, the Government is always tax exempt with some exceptions.  This is not an excepted one and is tax exempt.

Please see RFI Questions below in reference to Solicitation # NFFN73002301075SRG: Construction of Permanent Storage Structure for GMT in Pascagoula, MS:

  1. Is it acceptable to have a superintendent cover supervision, QA/QC, and safety duties? Or do we need 1 person for each responsibility?  Yes, this is acceptable
  2. Are contractors required to issue a contract specific QA/QC Plan? No, this is not required
  3. Are contractors required to issue a contract specific Safety Plan?  No, this is not required
  4. There are no underground utilities in the work area. Please confirm.  There are none known, but suggest DIG is contacted prior to construction
  5. Is the center pole of the building required?  The center pole is not required.  It is preferred to not be there unless needed for support/bracing.
  6. Are metal trusses acceptable?  Yes
  7. Are there specific instructions for the installation of the poles or is this up to the contractor?  No specific instructions were on the scope of work.  As long as the structure meets local wind ratings/building codes as stated on the SOW.

GEAR MONITORING TEAM (GMT)

Background:

NOAA’s Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC) located in Pascagoula, Mississippi seeks to purchase a permanent pole barn structure for weathered protection of the two new GMT 30’ small boats.

Objective:

Provide labor and materials for one (1) permanent pole barn structure designed to fit two 30’ vessels. The pole barn structure shall be as follows:

  • Dimensions shall be 30’x40’x13’. The boat requires 13 feet of clearance.
  • Galvalume roof with a slope of 4:12
  • Both sides shall be enclosed 6’ from the top
  • Exact location to be determined before construction. The construction will be on existing asphalt.
  • Local building codes and wind ratings shall be met.
