Install Mental Health Safety Improvements
Project # 583-24-201, rev. 1-8-2024
The US Dept of Veterans Affairs and Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center (RLR VAMC) are contemplating a contract for construction services to update the Inpatient Mental Health (IPMH) Unit. The project is expected to entail updating room finishes and installing new ligature-resistant fixtures in various spaces. Updates include new flooring, new wall protection, new handrail/wall guards, paint/patch walls, new acoustical ceiling tiles, and new ligature-resistant sinks, toilets, and shower panels, among other work items. Completion of this project will bring the IPMH Unit into compliance with the Mental Health Environment of Care Checklist (MHEOCC), as well as providing necessary updates to the unit’s finishes.
Period of Performance shall be 250 days following notice to proceed. All work shall be performed to minimize outages and disruption to the RLR VAMC, including phasing. Work may require second- or third- shift staffing (5 pm to 6 am) and may also include weekend work, if deemed necessary.
Per FAR 36.204(e) the magnitude of construction is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000.
All work will be performed within the IPMH Unit (Bldg 1, 5th Floor) of the RLR VAMC, located at 1481 West 10th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
This is not a solicitation. The solicitation is expected to be issued on SAM.gov on or about October 15, 2024.
