An Industry Day is planned to be held at U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) for the procurement of the Steam Sterilization Plant Effluent Decontamination System located at Fort Detrick, Maryland

Directions to USAMRIID:

From Rt 15 take the Motter St/Opossumtown Pike exit. If travelling south on 15, turn left at the end of the ramp on to Opossumtown Pike. If traveling north on 15, turn right at the end of the ramp on to Motter Ave./Opossumtown Pike. Proceed on Opossumtown Pike for about 1 mile to the traffic light at Amber Dr. (7-Eleven on your right). Turn left at this light to the visitor center for Ft Detrick. Enter the visitor center for a visitor pass.

After you have your visitor pass, turn right out of the visitor center and proceed to the gate. After you get thru the gate, proceed to the traffic circle and go 3/4 of the way around the circle. Proceed on this road to the first stop sign and make a left. This puts you on Campus Dr. Proceed on Campus Dr to the first stop sign and make a right. This puts you on Porter St. Proceed on Porter St to the stop light (commissary on your left, PX in front of you on the right). Turn right at this light on to Veterans Dr and proceed to the stop sign. Turn right at this stop sign on to

Sultan St. and park in the parking lot on your left. USACE will have personnel available to escort people into the building.

Background: An Industry Day is planned to be held at U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) for the re-procurement of the Steam Sterilization Plant Effluent Decontamination System located at Fort Detrick, Maryland. The Government has provided the previous solicitation as a draft document which will be utilized for a basis of feedback from industry to making the project successful. The Government is also soliciting feedback on three potential courses of action to achieve a successful award:

1. Traditional Design-Build with revisions to the evaluation criteria to allow proposed team to be finalized in phase II.

2. Two separate simultaneous procurements –

a. Solicit and award a contract for the EDS system and associated design

b. Solicit and award a Design-Build contract addressing other design and construction. 

3. Three separate procurements –

a. Convert the current design-build package to design-bid-build

b. Solicit and award a contract for the EDS system and associated design

c.Solicit and award a Design-Bid-Build construction contract

Event Summary: This industry day event will feature key stakeholders, acquisition leadership and a presentation from the Designer of Record. USACE has included some DRAFT key documents for interested offerors to review and provide comments/feedback as a part of the discussion during this industry day event. Comments on the draft documents may also be submitted in writing to Contract Specialist, Leigha Arnold, at Leigha.M.Arnold@usace.army.mil, with a copy furnished to Paula Beck at paula.m.beck@usace.army.mil.
