Description

**** Amendment 1 - This amendment is to list the technical specifications required for this 355nm laser.  These specifications are listed below:

Scope of need:  The NIST Nanoscale Device Characterization Division (NDCD) is implementing the capability for advancing the photonic quantum state engineering by measuring quantum states of single photons in spatial mode. For efficient performance of the photonic quantum state metrology experiments, it is necessary to verify the generation of single photon pair, trigger between single photon events and photonic imaging camera, and measure coincident events with high signal to noise ratio. For this purpose, a Single Frequency 355 nm Laser is going to be installed to generate ensemble of single photon pairs with stabilized wavelength and high production rate at near infrared wavelength. The Single Frequency 355 nm laser is used as the pump laser source for SPDC based biphoton pair generation for the measurement of photonic quantum states in the spatial mode.

The Contractor shall provide one (1) Single Frequency 355 nm Laser system that meets the following specifications:

  1. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall include laser head with necessary accessories for full operation.
  2. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser Head shall be continuous wave and have a center wavelength of 355 nm with a deviation of ±0.5 nm or less.
  3. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser Head shall have a single frequency with linewidth of 5 MHz or narrower.
  4. The output power of the Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall be 20 mW or more at free space output.
  5. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall have a power stability of less than 2% over at least 4 hours.
  6. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall have a wavelength stability of 1 pm or less over at least 4 hours.
  7. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall have a polarization of 100:1 or better.
  8. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall include facilities and electronics for stabilization of wavelength and power.
  9. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall include a Windows-compatible GUI software to control and monitor.
  10. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall have a control interface with either USB or Ethernet, or both USB and Ethernet.
  11. The Single Frequency 355 nm Laser shall include a set of interface wires for the computer connection and a module for providing electric power.
