Description

Repaint Service Bridge, Crooked Creek Lake, Armstrong County and East Branch Dam, Elk County, Pennsylvania. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District, has a project for the repainting of the Service Bridge at Crooked Creek Lake, Armstrong County and East Branch Dam, Elk County, Pennsylvania which has several tasks that the Contractor must complete, all of which are on the Service Bridge. The Contract work consists of the following work tasks and activities: a. Steel bridge super structure, including steel parapet roadway walls, to be white metal blasted. Not included are guide rails approaching bridge, hand rails or transition plates on bridge deck. Contractor is responsible for protecting active pipe and conduit under the bridge. Contractor is responsible for removing or protecting abandoned pipe and conduit under the bridge. Contractor will remove prior to painting and blasting. b. Entire steel bridge super structure to be repainted as described in 09 97 02 PAINTING: HYDRAULIC STRUCTURES. Not included are guide rails approaching bridge, handle rails or transition plates on bridge deck. c. A new fence and gate will be installed post painting. Contractor is responsible for removing signage from existing fence gate and installing the signage on the new gate. d. Existing bridge paint coatings contain lead based coating and shall be properly removed and disposed in accordance with all federal, state and local laws and provisions.
