Event Details: The Government is planning an Industry Day event to obtain feedback from both the dredging industry and supporting environmental contractors regarding best practices, interest and practicality of project monitoring and adaptive management plans. This information will help ensure the best plan is created to allow for completion of the forthcoming Port Everglades Dredging project located in Broward County, while minimizing expected turbidity and sedimentation impacts. The Government is requesting answers to the posted questions regarding spill budgets, turbidity/sediment flux monitoring and corrective action minimization best practices. The Government will provide an overview presentation on the history and status of the Port Everglades Deepening project, including the monitoring and adaptive management plan coordinated with regulatory agencies, to date. Note: National Marine Fisheries Services (NMFS) will be in attendance and available for discussion following the presentation.
If interested in attending this event, firms can register utilizing the link provided above and request a one-hour breakout session to answer the Governments questions. Note: The Government is not seeking responses to questions in advance of the event, rather, is requesting firms come prepared to discuss the questions, applicable to their area of expertise, during their breakout session. The goal of the breakout sessions is for the Government to obtain information from dredging contractors regarding different aspects of minimizing turbidity and sedimentation based monitoring and adaptive management implementation.
