Description
SYNOPSIS - Mechanic Testing Lab equipment upgrade
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS.
This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of Title 10, U.S.C. 3201(a)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.” A determination by the Government not to compete these efforts is solely within the discretion of the Government. However, other responsible sources may submit a capability statement, pursuant to FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii), which shall be considered. Unless stated herein, no additional information is available.
This requirement is being synopsized with the utilization of FAR Part 12 and 13.5 procedures.
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD in support of Air Systems Group, Materials Engineering Test Laboratory intends to award a follow-on Firm-Fixed Price contract to MTS Systems Corporation (Cage Code 34145, 14000 Technology Drive, Eden Prairie, MN, 55344-2247, for Mechanic Testing Laboratory Equipment. MTS Systems Corporation is the Original Equipment Manufacturer of Mechanical Testing Equipment within the Air Vehicle Systems, Materials Engineering Test Laboratory. Multiple laboratory systems utilizes many of this previously procured equipment and technology from MTS which provides test results and data packages in support of multitude of experiments. Consequently new test equipment must be compatible with existing components presently installed at this laboratory. Additionally, software provided in this procurement must be able to use existing test methods and procedures already developed on current test equipment. MTS Systems is the only company that can provide software and hardware updates to existing equipment within our laboratory and maintain full functionality, and has proprietary rights to software used to operate the test equipment. All previous support, including calibration and interface with for existing test equipment, has been provided by MTS Systems Corporation.
The requirement will include the following:
- (Qty. 2) Flex-Test Frame Controllers,
- (Qty. 1) 22Kip Servo- Hydraulic Test System,
- (Qty. 1) Hydraulic Pump Power Supply 11GPM,
- (Qty. 2) Hydraulic Collet Grips,
- (Qty. 6) Sets of Collet Grip Inserts
- (Qty. 10) Sets of Wedge Inserts
- All associated fixtures, load cells, cables, hoses, fluids, software, control equipment as well as calibration, on-site installation, commissioning, maintenance and operator manuals, and basic operator training will be included with this procurement.
