Description
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project is for civil site improvements and maintenance in support of the flood control and recreation missions of the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project near North Pole, Alaska. Anticipated work includes paving and striping on Laurance Road, on Moose Creek Landing Road, at gravel ramps over the dam, at various parking areas and on the bike path in the Chena River Lakes Flood Control Project. The anticipated work also includes the installation of one 6-foot diameter culvert in River Park and replacement of approximately 140 culverts in the stability berm of Moose Creek Dam. The stability berm extends for 7 miles from the dam extension at the south to the north end of the dam and approximately 5 miles are under Laurance Road. The culverts are approximately 75 feet long and range from 24” to 30” in diameter. Sections of Laurance Road that are not identified to be repaved will be patched at each culvert location.
The Contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, materials, supervision and other items and/or services necessary to accomplish the work. Estimated award date of the contract is July 2022. Construction will occur in 2023 with a completion date of October 2023. Construction wage rates will apply.
The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990, Heavy and Other Civil Construction, and the related size standard is $39.5 Million. The estimated dollar magnitude of this project is $5M-$10M.
Interested firms should submit a capabilities package (not exceeding 3 pages) demonstrating the ability to perform the work listed above. Packages should include the following information:
(1) Company name, address, DUNS number and business size under NAICS 237990.
(2) Type of small business if applicable (8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Woman Owned, etc.).
(3) Demonstration of the firm’s experience as a prime contractor on projects of similar size, scope and complexity within the past ten (10) years. List actual projects completed and include project title, location and a brief description of the project including dollar amount and work that was self-performed.
(4) The firm’s single project bonding limit.
(5) The firm’s intent to propose on this project as a prime contractor.
