Description

Combined Synopsis Solicitation is hereby amended as follows: Provide answers to questions submitted by interested parties, Update to Addendum to 52.212-1 Instructions to Offerors Commercial Products and Commercial Services, Factor 2 - Space Utilization (Layout) and Monorail Process Flow, Incorporate Attachment A Statement of Work, and Incorporate Attachment B Technical Specifications _________________________________________________________________ Question 1. Please validate if the atmospheric vents connected to the new washer/extractors can be connected to the atmospheric vent currently servicing the existing Braun washer/extractors and routed out as a common vent through the roof. Answer 1. Yes, the atmospheric vents to the new washer extractors may be connected to the atmospheric vent currently servicing the existing washer extractors and routed out a common vent through the roof. Refer to the updated Statement of Work section 4.7.7. Question 2. Typically, an Uninterrupted Power Supply is not required for washer extractors. The inclusion of this requirement could significantly increase cost and scope of the project and provide limited operational benefit. Please validate if in this instance an Uninterrupted Power Supply is only a requirement for the Washer Control System? Answer 2. The Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) shall be installed for the Wash Control System. Refer to the updated Statement of Work section 5.4.5. Question 3. The existing trench that will service the new washer/extractors does not have an existing diamond plate trench cover or the supporting angle iron framework installed over the existing trench. The diamond plate trench covers are not mentioned in the solicitation, but are a needed item to support the operation of the equipment. Please validate if new diamond plate trench covers and the angle iron framework are to be installed over the entire length of the existing trench? Answer 3. Yes, new diamond plate trench covers, and the angle iron framework shall be installed over the entire length of the existing trench. Diamond plate covers shall be easily removed for cleaning. The supplemental requirement is reflected in line items 0001 and 0002 of the updated Technical Specifications.
