Description

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is a national laboratory owned by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).  NREL is the only federal laboratory dedicated to research, development, commercialization, and deployment of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies. NREL is managed and operated for DOE’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy by The Alliance for Sustainable Energy (Alliance), the “M&O Contractor”.

In 2022, the Alliance obtained a USDOT number (#3875889). There are currently 25 Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) drivers at NREL with 15 of those drivers having a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). With NREL being a M&O Contractor, NREL drivers operate government owned vehicles that have federal government license plates. The vast majority of NREL vehicle operations follow the 150-air mile exemption area. Rarely does a NREL driver operate a CMV outside of the 150-air mile radius and/or outside the Colorado state line.

NREL is looking for a Subcontractor to provide managed services for NREL’s CMV program including DOT Driver Qualification (DQ) Files and DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
