Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE

TECHNICAL SERVICES TO REMAP CPP AND THROLTLE POSITIONS

Background. JAMES has experienced several loss of engine speed control incidents while in Starboard Cruise mode, resulting in severe engine bogging or un-commanded declutches and engine shutdowns. Issue appears to occur when the operator increases handle position from ~2 to ~5, at which point pitch on both shafts increases as expected but engine RPM/power output does not, causing the engine to bog down to ~240 ERPM at which point the system automatically declutches both shafts and shuts the engine down.
