LAU-127E/A Structural Section, Special Shape

This Sources Sought Notice is being posted to satisfy the requirement of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) 206.302-1(d).  The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, Maryland, Program Executive Office for Unmanned Aviation and Strike Weapons (PEO (U&W)), Precision Strike Weapons (PMA-201), Aircraft Armament Equipment (AAE) Program Office, intends to issue a Sole Source Firm-Fixed Price type contract to IBC Materials & Technologies, Lebanon, IN for the tasking required to manufacture, test, package and deliver the Launcher Adapter Unit (LAU)-127E/A Structural Section, Special Shape. The Government contemplates an estimated 18 month period of performance. 

The proposed action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, “Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements.” IBC Materials & Technologies is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer, and integrator who has the capability to both manufacture the LAU-127E/A Structural Section, Special Shape, as well as the exclusive rights to apply the primer, coating, and urethane Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation (PEO) coating to the LAU-12X Family of Structural Section, Special Shape.

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. Responsible and interested parties, however, may identify their interest by responding to the requirement with a capability statement. The Government will consider all information received prior to the closing date of this notice. Unless stated herein, no additional information may be made available. Requests for the same will be disregarded. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete these efforts based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No phone inquiries will be entertained.
