Description

Intent to Sole Source

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to solicit and award a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed-Price service contract with the City of Portland. The procurement is for the VA's 800 MHz Police Radio Emergency Communication Services. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 922120, Police Protection. This procurement is limited to one source in accordance with FAR Part 13.5, simplified procedures for certain commercial items as the City of Portland coordinates this service for this area in the State of Oregon (Washington, Multnomah, Clackamas, Marion) and Clark County, Washington. The City of Portland owns and operates the proprietary public safety system for Portland/Multnomah County and surrounding counties. The anticipated award date: June 28, 2024 and the anticipated start date is: July 1, 2024. The period of performance is a base with four (4) option years. 52.217-8 will be included for an additional six-month extension.

This requirement is for: Department of Veterans Affairs Portland VA Medical Center 3710 SW US Veterans Hospital Rd Portland, OR 97239. This notice satisfies the requirement at FAR 5.201(b)(1), to publicize the proposed contract action.
